Consistory of Vermont

Scottish Rite of Vermont is a member of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction of United States of America (Supreme Council). In Vermont there are 4 Valleys that are responsible for a geographic region of the state. They are the Valley of Brattleboro, the Valley of Burlington, the Valley of Montpelier and the Valley of Rutland. For more information about the Valleys please go to the "Valleys" section of our website.

Although the Vermont Consistory is part of the Valley of Burlington, many people perceive it as a state wide organization. This is due to the fact that to be a 32° Scottish Rite Mason in Vermont you must join the Vermont Consistory. This means that the consistory is made up of individuals who belong to a Valley in their region and to the Valley of Burlington, specifically the Consistory body.

Scottish Rite as a whole has degrees numbering from 4th to 32nd these degrees are separated into 4 bodies (for more on this, please see the Valley's section of our website). Consistory specifically is responsible for the 19th through 32nd degrees with all of the preceding degrees being handled by other Valley bodies.

The Consistory is governed locally by a Commander-in-chief of the consistory and a slate of officers.
